Business computing is the use of diverse technologies to meet the requirements of business information. It is a blend of the fields of business and computer science, and may include some aspects advanced computing. Graduates may choose to pursue careers in the IT or business worlds that deal with technological or computing issues.

The course is firmly rooted in the workplace. Guest lecturers from engineering and business partners share their insights on real-life business issues. You will also have the chance to work on live briefs that put your technical knowledge to real-world problems. Over four years, you will gain a wide variety of IT and business skills. From designing software to understanding how to analyse data in order to offer innovative solutions for businesses.

During your first year, your focus will be on subjects like accounting and marketing as well as getting hands-on experience of the latest computing and IT technologies. You’ll build your IT and business knowledge in preparation for the placement year. This could be on campus or at one of our many partner organisations across Kent and London. You’ll finish with a unique mix of business and IT expertise that can lead to many career paths including web development, software development, customer service and data analytics. Graduates have gone on to work for companies such as Accenture, BP, FDM and Spotify.
