Low-carbon steels, which are available in many forms, are the most widely employed steels by metal fabricators. They are used in pipes, beams, and other structural elements. They’re also ideal for welded fabrications as they can be easily shaped and formed without losing its strength or quality.
The medium-carbon steels are famous for their toughness and contain a carbon content less than 1.75%. They are the best choice for cookware as well as durable tools. They are also used in the manufacture of car parts as well as other mechanical gear.
High-carbon steels are commonly used for components that require high strength and corrosion resistance. These include anchor bolts rods, and tools.
Alloy steels have a wide range of useful properties that can be modified to meet the demands of each use. For instance, tungsten is able to enhance the strength at temperatures and wear-resistance of high-strength alloy steels. Chromium increases the resistance to heat of stainless steels and improves their ductility. Molybdenum on is the other hand, increases the hardness and toughness of alloy steels.
